Aconcagua Base Camps
The base camp service is a key part of all expeditions. A combination of nutrition, rest, acclimatation, hydratation and relax; is fundamental to be successful on the mountain, and with our prepared staff we ensure you get all you need!!
As our way of working is personalized expeditions, in the camps we follow the same idea. If you need a particular service or special needs, you can let us know before your expedition starts and we can arrange it for you.
Base Camps Service at Confluencia, Plaza de Mulas,Plaza Argentina :
Our cooker prepare the food every day. This meals are carefully made by professional with balanced diets. The base camp services are provided by ourselves It’s offered at a dining-tent. It includes all types of food and menues, even vegetarian or celiac options.
Plaza de mulas (4.200 Mts)
It is the Mount Aconcagua base camp beginning of the Normal Route or Northwest Route and its variants. From here the ascent of the Northwest Wall starts. The base camp Plaza de Mulas they include a heliport that are used for emergency evacuations and rescues. The base camp Plaza de Mulas is the Ranger control and Medical Service The entire surface to camping and there is parceled areas allocated to service providers. During the summer season detachable type latrine toilets are placed.
In all base camps, you will not only share with your team, you will be with climbers from all over the world, allowing you to have a real culture exchange
CONFLUENCIA (3.200 Mts)
This Mount Aconcagua base camp is 3 hours walk from Lake Horcones trailhead. It is the second office park rangers and medical service. It is advisable to sleep one night in Confluencia, before arriving at Plaza de Mulas to get a good acclimatization. It has drinking water is the most visited of Quebrada by the location and the services it has. Is called Confluencia by the union of the river Horcones Inferior and river Horcones Superior Times of trekking Puente del Inca – Confluencia (3 a 4 horas)
Plaza Argentina (4.300 Mts)
The Mount Aconcagua base camp Plaza Argentina is locate at a distance of approximately 60 kilometers from Punta de Vacas (2600 m) This base camp is going up the Quebrada del Rio Vacas and Relinchos stream. From this point we climb to Mountain west-northwest direction and has a permanent control rangers, medical service and heliport. During the approach to the Base camp Plaza Argentina must go through the camps Refugee Leñas (3100 m) the next day Casa de Piedra (3800 m) and the next day we arrive at camp Plaza Argentina Times of trekking Punta de Vacas – Refugio Leñas (3 a 6 horas) Refugio Leñas – Refugio Casa de Piedra (5 a 8 horas) Refugio Casa de Piedra – Plaza Argentina (5 a 8 horas)

Food Service at Mount Aconcagua Base Camp
Well prepared meals made by our professional chefs (adapting menus to special diets if needed), given in our dome tents dining room.
At the Mount Aconcagua base camp in Plaza de Mulas (Normal Route) Mount Aconcagua base camp the Plaza Argentina (Polish Glacier Route) at the Mount Aconcagua base camp Confluencia .
This service is given in mass tents with a capacity for 12-15 people, it works as a restaurant. It normally works with a fixed menu, the lunches and the dinners have as a first plate soup and the main dish varies (some might be vegetables, cheese and ham, pastas, chicken with potatoes, steak with mashed potatoes, many of these meals are accompanied with fresh salads).
The Base Camp has tents, chairs, tables and electrical lighting.

We have permanent communication with Mendoza and Penitentes with HF radios and with height camps by VHF (Handy). If you have these radios, the frequencies that are used here are between 142 Mhz and 150 Mhz.

It is an emergency service used in cases of accute mountain sickness, pulmonary edema and cerebral edema.
